Boots About Business - Host Frank Strong
Frank Strong is the founder and president of Sword and the Script Media, LLC, a veteran-owned business focused on PR, content marketing and social media for the B2B market space. His agency grew out of a humble marketing blog Strong started about a decade ago. Blogging provided both the opportunity to grow and experiment with emerging marketing techniques while also fostering a powerful online community and network. The trust and credibility he gained in the process naturally evolved into a platform on which to build a business.
Strong has held multiple PR, communications and marketing communications roles in-house with corporations, ranging from startups to the mid-market to global organizations, including LexisNexis Software, Vocus (NASDAQ: VOCS), and Managed Objects (acquired by Novell). He has also endured the rigors of billable hours, having completed gigs with PR firms small and large, including the top 10 global firm Hill & Knowlton. He has primarily served B2B clients or employers in segments including enterprise software, SaaS, telecom, manufacturing, legaltech, martech, cybersecurity and a $180M venture capital fund.
A veteran, Strong has concurrently served in uniform in reserve components of the military for more than 20 years, initially as an enlisted Marine and later as an infantry officer in the Army National Guard. His deployments include Iraq and the Sinai. He served as a TOW gunner, rifleman, rifle platoon leader, infantry company commander (HHC), civil affairs officer, infantry battalion S3, and more. He retired from the service after having last served as the chief of operations (CHOPS) for the historic 29th Infantry Division.
Strong holds a B.A. in Film and TV production from Worcester State University, an M.A. in Public Communication from American University, and an M.B.A. from Marymount University.
